A new missionary family in the Seeds of the Word
The Seeds of the Word Community's Charism gathers together the various vocations that make up the life of the Church (couples, families, widows, single men and women, consecrated men and women, and clergy), all sharing the same mission and the same spirituality.
"The different vocations recognize, respect and complement each other, in the same community body." (Rule of Life, Art. 208)
In this grace, the Community rejoiced last Saturday (March 27th) with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Marriage of Mike and Suanny, held in the Church of Our Lady of Carmel in Belém (Brazil). The SoW missionary couple are currently missionaries in the "Mary, Cause of our Joy" House in Tongeren, Belgium.
The sacrament was presided by Fr. Tiago, with the presence of the missionary couple Nelito and Flávia (acting as representatives of the SoW General Moderator, Dcn. Georges Bonneval), the Community Life Members in Belém, and some relatives and friends of the engaged couple.
"We are on the eve of Holy Week, on the eve of celebrating the mystery of the New and Eternal Covenant with the whole Church (...) Marriage is the visible sign on earth of the union of God with His people. It is here on the altar that the sacrifice of love par excellence takes place. Here, the Bridegroom Jesus gives Himself entirely to the Church, His Bride..." said Fr. Tiago, in his homily.
Afterwards, the guests attended a reception in the halls of Our Lady of Mount Carmel House.
"Every couple and family in the Community is given to God.... The family is already gathered together in a sacramental community, and already form a small 'domestic church'." (Rule of Life, 207)
The Seeds of the Word Community rejoices with the birth of one more Christian family, in the heart of the Founding Charism!
